Kyle Lyddy, a 2009 graduate from the Universty of Connecticut, has begun a National Association for Division I Men's College Basketball Managers. Lyddy was a traveling manager for UConn between 2005 and 2009. Since his graduation in 2009, Lyddy has published a book titled "From My Seat" which details his experiences as a manager at UConn during the Huskies Final Four season.

In a prepared statement, Lyddy said:

The National Association of Collegiate Basketball Managers is an effort to bring college managers together. The goal of this association will be to make a better way for managers to communicate ideas to each other throughout each season and to help eachother network once graduation is near. There are tons of former managers out there who are extremely successful in the sports world and beyond, and we want to be able to tap into those connections, and make it easier for current managers to find a job after school.

Throughout each season, like the NABC does for coaches, the association would like to communicate ideas and offer support to current managers. We would also like to start up national initiatives where we can create awareness for specific issues and organizations.

While I was a manager at Connecticut, I had always thought we were in a position to do more. Managers are hard workers and definitely a motivated group, which is why I think we can all do each other a favor and help network with each other to ensure we are all successful. It is my goal for this association to include the over 340 Division I men's basketball programs.

Please Note: It will be the goal of the NACBM to honor and respect each school's privacy and make it a point to members of the association to keep inside information to themselves. We are looking out for the best interest of managers and are more interested in using this association as a networking group and to enhance the managerial position.
