Dear Managers,

During the entire month of February, which is Black History Month, managers from across the country will be competing for the "Service Cup" which will be awarded to a hard working manager who exemplifies what being a servant leader really means.  Managers serve their team every day in various duties and Samaritan's Feet serves impoverished people every day by washing their feet and placing a new pair of socks and shoes on their feet.  That's why we have partnered together.  Student managers will have an opportunity to serve the impoverished at various shoe distributions that we conduct together, exemplifying what a servant leader does.  By joining the movement, each manager will be using their platform to provide a voice for impoverished children.

Student managers will encourage their coach and university to support their efforts.  This could mean that the coach coaches one game in his bare feet to raise money and awareness or will lend their name in another fund raising effort to support this program.   The "Service Cup" contest will be based on multiple factors, including servant leadership of their team, GPA, active involvement in their community, fund raising, and a write up from their coach of why they should win the award.  The manager who best fits these criteria, will become the "Service Cup" winner.  Samaritan's Feet will award prizes to the top 3 managers who exemplify servant leadership.

Samaritan’s Feet was started 8 years ago with a goal to put 10 million pairs of shoes on the feet of 10 million children in 10 years. Samaritan’s Feet serves the impoverished in over 62 countries around the world and has placed new shoes on the feet of more than 3.5 million children.

From across the nation, college, high school, and community coaches are coaching games in their bare feet and influencing university and high school students and faculty to get involved to help make a difference. Governors from several states and business leaders have gone barefoot to work to help bring awareness to this cause. Through this effort Samaritan’s Feet has raised more than 2,000,000 pairs of new shoes and nearly $2 million dollars.

Our goal this year is to raise $10,000, which will provide 1,000 children with a new pair of shoes and socks. With your help, we will reach our goal. Our goal is to have student managers use their platform to help impoverished children find hope through receiving a new pair of shoes and socks.

Samaritan’s Feet is partners with the NACBM, NCAA, NFHS, NABC, NACDA, NIAAA, WBCA and many other organizations to help us reach our goal. Through these partnerships, thousands of coaches across the country have said YES to the Barefoot Coaching Movement and have changed the lives of children forever … including their own.

Become a part of the barefoot movement for the 2011-2012 season.  As more managers stand ‘barefoot’ together, the impact will continue to grow and more children will be given hope.

Will you provide a voice for the 300 million barefoot children around the world?
